Crosswoodhill Farm Holiday Cottages are the only self-catering cottages to have 4 times won the prestigious Scottish Tourism Oscar: Self-Catering Operator of the Year These national awards in 2001, 2005 and 2008, and a regional winner award in 2012 recognise exceptional customer care. Of our 3 very different cottages, the 3 star wing, 5 star orlege End and 4 star steading Cottage, it is Steading Cottage that offers the most flexibility with its family-friendly layout, wheelchair and pet friendliness. Appearing deceptively small from the outside, it opens up like a tardis and excited children can't believe the wealth of toys, games and books they find here. Adults love the feeling of space, the thoughtful facilities, the kitchen layout and the general comfort and tastefulness of the decor. Everything, our guests tell us, is here to make for a great stay, with the bonus of being on a farm and meeting our sheep and cows.
The Wing offers traditional comfort in contrast to the stunning contemporary chic of Orlege. Steading Cottage falls somewhere in between. You can sample the comments of past guests on our website. Our Central Scotland Location
Well-placed in West Lothian, Crosswoodhill Farm is the ideal holiday base for exploring large areas of scenic Scotland and its cities. Edinburgh Airport is just 25 kms away and Glasgow Airport 54 kms away. Stirling, Perthshire, Fife, the Borders and East Lothian are all within an hour's drive .

Here’s just one for this cottage: Steading Cottage. These particular guests were so impressed they have been back 3 times now.
“This is really like staying in your own home - it is so comfortable and the friendly owner "G" has provided everything you could possibly want. The kitchen cupboards are packed with every conceivable utensil, lots of pots and pans, beautiful crockery and glasses, modern microwave, fridge, freezer,dishwasher, kettle, food processor and even an odds and ends drawer - just like at home. A lobby just inside the entrance is a great place for the washing machine and tumble drier and just the place to leave muddy boots - there's a sink out there too.
The cottage is very light and airy and is good family sized accommodation. My daughter and her fiance had the upstairs room with sink and WC and TV so it was good for them to have their own space. It was nice to prepare meals in the open plan downstairs kitchen and still take part in the family conversations -Our son had the downstairs single room and enjoyed having his own bathroom opposite. We had the main bedroom again with excellent shower and W.C
All the furnishings are of excellent quality, contemporary wood floors, everything is clean and in good order and the beds are comfortable. There are 3 Tvs, a dvd player, cd player, a large games cupboard, lots of books, and the most impressive amount of holiday info I have ever seen filed neatly away in dozens of folders. So, to sum up, we like this place and it is fully accessible with no steps downstairs and a good accessible family bathroom.
It is in the heart of the countryside but also near Livingston where there is a huge shopping centre and not far from Edinburgh and Glasgow - the only down side - the weather wasn't too good - but I think as "G" had thought of everything else I don't think we could blame her for that!
