Stybarrow Cottage is a lovely Lakeland cottage which sleeps up to six people and provides comfortable self catering holiday accommodation from which you can explore the Lake District National Park.
Our holiday cottage is ideally located for walkers, climbers, cyclists and watersports enthusiasts. Stybarrow Cottage is located at the heart of the village of Glenridding in the Ullswater valley. You are only minutes from the lake and there are numerous walks from the cottage door, including Helvellyn, High Street, Place Fell and St Sunday Crag as well as delightful valley walks. And if you just want to enjoy some peace and quiet, you can relax in the cottage garden or savour a stroll by the lakeshore.
Stybarrow Cottage was built at the end of the 19th century as a miner's cottage. As the history of Glenridding has evolved, so has the story of our cottage. In recent years, it has been lovingly extended and refurbished to provide comfortable holiday accommodation for up to six people.
It combines a real home from home with stunning mountain scenery; a modern well equipped kitchen for home dining or a friendly pub just up the road; challenging mountain walking or paddling with the kids in the lake; a cottage for a romantic get away or a weekend with friends; the opportunity to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet but with shops, cafes and pubs only a few minutes' walk away.
The open plan ground floor has a modern kitchen, a lovely dining area and a comfortable lounge with a traditional open fire. On the first floor there are two bedrooms (a double and a twin); a bathroom with bath, toilet and wash basin; a separate shower room; and a second toilet. The top floor of the cottage is a wonderful double bedroom with seating area and magnificent views of the surrounding scenery.
