Welcome to our pet friendly holiday cottage on the Coast of Cumbria
Sunset Cottage is a 17th century former yeoman farmer's cottage situated on the coast of Cumbria, home of the Lake District in Kirkby-in-Furness overlooking the Duddon Estuary and the mountains (Blackcombe, Stickle Pike, Coniston Old Man) beyond. The cottage sleeps 6 and pets are welcome by arrangement.
Our holiday accommodation and features
There are many original features including inglenook fireplace with log fire, exposed oak beams & panelling, flagged floor in the kitchen. It is fully equipped and the solid oak/beech fully integrated kitchen includes a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge & freezer, microwave etc. The lounge/diner has a tv/video and dvd player and there are a selection of dvds/videos for your use. We now have WiFi available by request which is included in the tariff.
Upstairs there is a large bathroom with separate walk in power shower. There is a double room with a king size bed and two twin rooms - all with views out to the garden and Kirkby Moor. All bed linen and towels are included in the tariff and the beds will be made up for your arrival. There is a south facing enclosed garden with patio furniture supplied. The views out on to the fell and across the estuary are spectacular. The cottage is centrally heated as well as having the log fire. It is non-smoking. Pets are welcome at an additional charge of £20.00 per pet. Private parking also included.
Our cottage location in the Lake District
We are about 20 minutes from Coniston where guests can take a trip to Coniston Water and 30 minutes from the famous Lake Windermere. Ulverston is 10 minutes away by car and is a lovely drive over Kirkby Moor, which backs onto our garden. Market days are Thursday and Saturday. Here you will find a further theatre (Coronation Hall) and many welcoming pubs, cafes and restaurants. Dunnerholme Golf Course is nearby. Dalton 15 minutes away, has a leisure centre with swimming pool, sauna and a gym and is the home of the Wild Animal Park.
There are some lovely walks from the front door and in the surrounding area - details are provided in the cottage.
