Welcome to the Old School House B&B
B&B accommodation in County Kerry Ireland with ensuite guest bedrooms.
Welcome to The Old School House B&B, our beautiful B&B situated in the rural town of Ballinskelligs, in County Kerry, Ireland. Our Bed and Breakfast is nestled in between two fantastic Blue Flag beaches and is surrounded by fantastic mountains, which are perfect for climbing and cycling.
Our B&B is rich in history, having been an old School House previously, as is Ballinskelligs itself. It is the home of Ballinskelligs Abbey, which was founded in the 9th Century by Monks who had travelled over from the nearby island of Skellig Michael, one of the Skellig Ring of Islands just off the coast from Ballinskelligs
At the Old School House B&B, we like to invite you to begin your day with one of our fresh, home-made breakfasts. We use only our own free range eggs and locally-sourced Valencia milk. You can choose from:
- Scrambled Free-Range eggs with Irish Smoked Salmon
- Fluffy Pancakes with Berries and Cream
- A Traditional Irish fry-up
- A selection of our home-baked brown bread and scones
Alongside Bed and Breakfast, we also offer evening meals upon request and complimentary tea and coffee in our Dining Room. We have a range of double, single and twin rooms, and every room has a power shower in the en-suite bathroom, as well as wifi internet access and TV available on request.
After your breakfast, there are loads of things to do in the local area which will occupy your days with us. There are many local activities to take part in and enjoy, with something to cater for all tastes and ability levels. Some of the things to do in the area are:
- Cliff Walks along the beautiful Irish Atlantic Coastline
- Kayaking and Canoeing
- Rock Climbing and Abseiling
- Golf
- Horse Riding
- Bird Watching
And if you are feeling a bit more adventurous and would like to go a bit further afield, we can help you arrange a boat trip out to near-by Skellig Island, the nearest island of the Skellig Ring. These trips are weather permitting, but are completely worth the day out if you can because of the incredible scenery and impressive sea cliffs which reach to up to 714 feet above the raging seas below. There are also boat trips out to various other parts of the Skellig Ring, and further out the World Famous Kerry Ring provides some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland. In the surrounding region of County Kerry, there are also a huge number of things to do while you are here. There is the Killarney Nation Park, numerous Monuments and Castles to visit, and plenty of other opportunities for outdoor and indoor recreational activities.
We at the Old School House B&B await you with open arms and hope that we will see you soon!
