Welcome to the Retreat, our sumptuous new holiday cottage in the heart of Scotland. This gorgeous self catering holiday accommodation sleeps from 4 people, and pets are welcome. We can even accommodate horses with a grazing paddock close to the cottage. The cottage is surrounded by the beautiful landscape of Trinity Gask Estate with its private woodlands, ponds and fishing beats on the River Earn. The allergy free cottage has been designed to be as “green” and eco friendly as possible so you can enjoy a wonderfully relaxing family holiday and do your bit for the environment!
Our Luxury Self Catering Holiday Accommodation
The cottage sits in a large enclosed beech hedged garden with a coppice of silver birch trees and a collection of huge sandstone boulders. Wonderful open stretches of flat lawn make the garden ideal for dogs and children’s play. Enjoy al fresco dining on the sheltered sun terrace and partially covered decking area or relax on the sun loungers and soak in the stunning open views south over the Strathearn valley.
The interior of this special cottage is simple, fresh and contemporary. There is a large, high-ceilinged, open-plan kitchen-living area with a stylish contemporary kitchen complete with Caithness stone worktops and a dining table for 8. In the living area, large comfortable leather sofas are perfect for stretching out on in front of the open fire. For your entertainment there is a 37” HD flat screen TV, DVD, Ipod docking station, CD/radio player and a Karaoke machine! There is a good selection of games and an abundance of touring, walking and cycling maps as well as interesting books on Scottish wildlife, history and culture.
There are two spacious bedrooms; the double room has two windows with views west (perfect for evening sun!) towards woodlands and Ben Vorlich. The superking size bed can be rearranged to create a twin bedroom if desired. All beds are extremely comfortable and made up with crisp Egyptian cotton linen. Both bedrooms have more than ample hanging and shelf space and come with hairdryers. The twin room is high-ceilinged and extremely bright, 2 east and 1 south windows provide uninterrupted views across the valley.
The bathroom has a big doubled ended bath, separate walk in shower and is stocked with organic shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion.
Adjacent to the back door is a separate outhouse, which is the perfect washing and drying room. There is a large stainless steel sink, washing machine, plenty of cupboard and hanging space, an overhead pulley and underfloor heating. Spacious, airy and warm, it is the ideal place for pets to sleep when they are not in the garden.
The price includes a welcome pack, all eco/organic cleaning materials, washing up liquid, firelighters, matches, cling film, tin foil, tea towels, kitchen roll, bin bags, sewing and first aid kits and a shoe cleaning basket.

The cottage has been lovingly restored and successfully marries the charm of a traditional stone house with the best progressive eco-build practises. You can relax and enjoy the benefits of sleeping in a breathable, allergy free house with organic hemp insulation, solid oak wooden floors throughout with underfloor heating (from a Ground Source Heat Pump), the paints are also carefully chosen non-odour and eco-friendly. Feel the satisfaction of re-harvesting rainwater, recycling (made easy with convenient storage and collection) and using a peat waste soak away.
Our Dog, Pet and Horse Friendly Holiday Accommodation in Scotland
We welcome pets and dogs to our holiday cottage, but unfortunately can only accommodation a maximum of 2 dogs at any time. We ask that they sleep in spacious outhouse with underfloor heating and are sure to enjoy the large fenced in garden. We are one of the few holiday cottages in Scotland with our own equestrian facilities, and so horses are also welcome, with a superb grazing paddock close to house.
Short Breaks and discounts at our Holiday Cottage in Scotland
Our holiday cottage in Perthshire is rented out all year. Bookings are generally Friday-Friday, with arrival at 4pm and departure at 10am. We do offer weekend and short breaks – please contact us to check availability and price. We also offer discounts for stays longer than one week.
Our Location in Perthshire, Central Scotland
Our holiday cottage is located near Auchterarder, in Perthshire, in the centre of Scotland. Our special cottage sits in the heart of the beautiful landscape of Trinity Gask Estate, with its extensive private woodlands, wildlife ponds and stretches of the River Earn. This is the perfect location for a holiday cottage in Perthshire, Scotland - a haven of peace and tranquillity, yet only 10 minutes from Auchterarder with its impressive selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and delicatessen. The world famous Gleneagles Hotel Resort is also on the doorstep with spectacular golf courses, one of Europe’s best Spas, Equestrian, Falconry, Shooting and off-road Driving Schools. For a special or romantic meal treat yourself at the 2 star Michelin restaurant. Perthshire’s largest city, Perth, a pretty market town on the River Tay, is conveniently located only 15 mins from the cottage. Here you will find a theatre, concert hall, cinema, art galleries, swimming pool, ice rink and museums. There is also a good selection of quality shops, restaurants and pubs…something for everyone!

For those interested in wildlife, there is abundance on the Estate ranging from nesting ospreys, sea eagles and other birds of prey. Lapwings, Oyster catchers, curlews and other waders are plentiful. Watch magnificent skeins of geese flying overhead and large numbers of swans meandering down the river.
