Welcome to The Smithy, our wonderful romantic holiday cottage for couples in Northumberland. This pet friendly cottage offers high quality self catering holiday accommodation for 2 people, and is perfect for romantic breaks and relaxing holidays. The cottage is located near the attractive market town of Wooler, close to the coast and on the edge of the Northumberland National Park.
The Cottage
The Smithy is a lovely cottage, recently refurbished and furnished to a high specification. It offers comfortable and contemporary self catering, marrying the old with the new to create beautiful interiors.
The holiday cottage is eco friendly with the latest state of the art air source heating system, a rain water harvesting unit and therma fleece insulation. This allows you to experience the warmth of under floor heating taken from a natural source.
There is a lovely double bedroom with a bathroom just next door, a kitchen/ dining /living room with log burner and a good sized utility room - perfect for the dog and for drying off out door gear.
Our Location in Northumberland
The cottage sits in the grounds of the farm house and has a small private, enclosed seating area outside. In addition it shares a larger courtyard with another cottage. The owners offer use of their private tennis court and just 2 miles away is a 9 hole golf course. Fishing is offered on the River Till which runs through the farm. Wooler is an ideal location for exploring Northumberland and the wider North of England. The cottage is within 5 mins drive of the Cheviot Hills and is only a mile to a Sustrans Cycle Track. The beautiful Heritage coast of Northumberland is only 1/2 and hour away. The historic towns of Berwick Upon Tweed and Alnwick with it's famous gardens are about 20 - 30 mins from Turvelaws. If you fancy a trip into Scotland - the border is 12 miles away making the pretty town of Kelso within easy reach. If diving and bird watching are your thing, then head off to the Farne Islands where the puffins are in abundance. Alternatively, you could just sit back, relax and enjoy the comfort of The Smithy.
