Tom's Barn and Douglas's Barn are our two very special and quite unique romantic holiday cottages for two, idyllically situated on the edge of the picturesque Peak Park village of Parwich (500 souls with its own pub and small shop) and next to beautiful open countryside with walks in every direction.
The barns are both next door to our own house so we are conveniently near when needed but never when not. Tom's Barn is the more 'farmhousey' of the two, with its logburner, galleried bedroom with Vi-spring bed and very popular ensuite deep two-seater whirlpool bath. Dogs are welcome here (£25 per dog - extra each per week/short break).
Douglas's Barn on the other hand we keep entirely pet-free. It is the more contemporary of the two, 'quirky but gorgeous' with lots of weird angles and funny shapes but beautifully stylish and comfortable. Tjhe king-size bed (with Vi-spring mattress) is slightly wider and longer than normal which tall guests appreciate; there is a power shower over the whirlpool bath in which two can comfortably fit!
We have equipped and furnished both barns to the highest possible (thoughtful) standards, aiming to provide the kind of place we would hope to find ourselves. Both are supremely comnfortable, and we also provide all the 'little extras' which our guests appreciate so much and which means no one has to pack their car full of kitchen and houselhold basics. It is all here! We even provide a Sony Netbook already with links installed to useful local sites, for your own personal use.
There is masses to do and see nearby: we are within easy distance (half an hour max) of Chatsworth, Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock, and even nearer to Tissington, Carsington Water and Dovedale.
