The hotel has established a reputation for excellent hospitality and fine cuisine that uses mainly local organic ingredients as well as providing guests with a relaxed atmosphere in which they can fully enjoy exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.The age of the house means that all 9 hotel rooms are all very different in size and layout all enjoying their own character. All rooms have hand sprung mattresses with fine Egyptian linen and are individually furnished. The larger of the hotel rooms have a small but comfortable seating area and the Garden suite has it's own conservatory. With comfort and relaxation in mind a butlers tray is supplied with homemade shortbread and real coffee while the toiletries are made especially for the hotel by the Caurnie Soaperie at the Organic Herb Garden in Kirkintilloch. Most of the rooms have views over the gardens and the Lowther hills to the east while others look over the Kier hills to the West. One room is at the rear of the property and looks over the woodland which covers a ruined Roman Fort. Rooms offer a good range of modern amenities including free Wi-Fi to ensure your stay is a relaxing one.Whether in the restaurant overlooking the gardens or in the cosy bar with its welcoming open fire Dining is always a pleasure at Trigony House Hotel. All food is prepared with the greatest of care from homemade organic bread to sumptuous ice-cream. Whether a light stroll from the hotel into the tranquil countryside of Nithsdale or a dramatic Cliff top walk along the Solway coast just a short distance away you are offered some of the best walking in Scotland.From the Trout fishing of the Scenic local lochs to the Salmon of the River Nith both north and south of the hotel there is Fly Fishing to suite all tastes. Cycling in Scotland is one of the best ways to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside with the quiet roads offering a good choice of routes and off road cycle tracks to explore. Hiring a bike from the hotel you can explore the quiet roads to Drumlanrig and Morton Castles as well as the off road paths in the forest of Ae and The Drumlanrig Estate.
