Welcome to our self catering cottage on the Isle of Tiree
Whitesands is in a peaceful location with uninterupted views, situated wihin a five minute walk of the nearest beach. It is well appointed and provides spacious and comfortable accommodation throughout including a sun lounge and large en-suite bedroom extension.
The ground floor has a large modern fully fitted kitchen/dining room and the dining area has a large family sized pine table and chairs. The sun lounge is a comfortable and spacious new addition to the house with uninterrupted views to the west. There is also a downstairs king sized bedroom with en-suite shower and dressing room, and a bathroom with bath and shower.
On the upper floor there is a bedroom with 3 single beds, a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a twin room. All beds have downies and pillows, linen can be provided at an extra cost. A cot is available if required.
Our Isle of Tiree location
Our cottage is located in the village of Kenovay on the Isle of Tiree.
The Isle of Tiree is the most westerly island of the Inner Hebrides. It is relatively small - about twelve miles long and three miles wide - and very flat. Although the name means 'the land of corn' it has been described variously as 'a raised beach' and 'the land below the waves'.
The island has a mild climate with some of the highest levels of sunshine recorded anywhere in the British Isles. It benefits from the moderating influence of the Gulf Stream ensuring that frost is rare and evenings in mid-summer are warm and balmy.
