Ambleside is in the central Lake District, close to Windermere and Grasmere. It is located at the nortern end of Lake Windermere, and is a ideal holiday location for exploring the Lake District. 

It has a good selection of holiday accommodation as you would expect, and a fantastic range of shops catering for the great outdoors. It also has a good selection of restaurants and bars, including Zeffirellis Cinema and Restaurant. There are many things to do and places to see in the area, including Rydal Mount, the historic home and gardens of William Wordsworth.
