Bassenthwaite is close to Keswick in the Lake District, and Bassenthwaite Lake is home to a nature reserve with wide variety of wildlife, including Ospreys. The surrounding area has much to offer visitors, including England's fourth highest mountain, Skiddaw.
Bassenthwaite has a good selection of cottages and B&Bs, and also plenty of things to do, including Trotters Animal Park, an ideal day out for all the family.
