Colyton is a medieval town in the east of Devon, close to the border with Dorset. The town is steeped in history, and hails itself as the “the most rebellious town in Devon”, because of the number of its people who joined the Monmouth Rebellion in 1685. It is ideally located between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis, and is only 3 miles from the World Heritage Jurrasic Coast. It makes an ideal base for walking, cycling and touring in East Devon and West Dorset.
