Braganca Region is located in the Northeast of Portugal. The capital is the city of Bragança. Mirandela and Macedo de Cavaleiros are also important towns. In the North of the region there are high altitudes and in the south there are plain landscapes of the Douro River. The Braganca Region is one of the less explored areas in the Portugal but is filled with heritage and history. Visitors to the area can enjoy and explore museums, Renaissance cathedrals and the 12th century Domus Municipalis, Portugal’s oldest and largest town hall.
