Along the west coast the most famous region is the Vendée, with its beautiful beaches, some of which are blue flagged for cleanliness. This region is known for its gastronomy and great weather.

In the south, there are many very popular tourist regions due to the warm climate and sunniness. In the south east there is the French Riviera, in the south central there is Ardèche and in the south west there is the region of Languedoc-Roussillon, a very famous wine region. There are many activities on the coast of France, and there is such variety of landscapes that there is an activity for everyone, whether be walking, cycling, water sports or almost anything else.
