Holiday Accommodation on the English Riviera
The English Riviera Geopark in Torbay is one of eight Geoparks in the United Kingdom, and is dominated by fantastic towering cliffs and deep mysterious cave networks. The original Riviera is in Italy, but the term has been used for this area due to the geological similarities. The geographical importance of the region is due to the large variety of different rock types, some of which are fairly rare.
The English Riviera resort towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham lie around one of the most beautiful bays in England. The resort is a top destination for visitors from around the country and indeed the world, and its history as a popular resort stretches back centuries. There are many interesting Caves and potholes to visit, and there are also a large number of important fossil finds in the area, including signs of out earliest human ancestors, woolly mammoths, and hippopotami among many others.
