Carswell Farm Cottages South Devon Coast Family and Pet Friendly Self Catering Family friendly Luxury Pet/Dog Friendly Holiday Cottage in Plymouth, Devon, England
6 beautiful self catering cottages dotted around our organic dairy farm on the South Devon coast. Beaches & coves to explore. Plymouth, Kingsbridge & Dartmouth within a short drive. Children's play area (with tractor!). Dogs very welcome. Sleeps 2-14
Our 6 unique and beautifully furnished holiday cottages are dotted around our working organic dairy farm set in unspoilt countryside on the beautiful South Devon coast. All our cottages are just a few minutes walk from the coast path and some lovely remote beaches, whilst the wilderness of Dartmoor is only a short drive away. The wonderful Erme estuary and Mothecombe beach, with over 130 acres of sand at low tide, is just a couple of miles away.
Explore the nearby picturesque towns of Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe or visit the historic port of Plymouth. Why not visit out of season and cosy down by a roaring log fire, or come and see the calves & lambs in spring? Short breaks available all year. Food hampers are available, and we put fresh local organic milk in each cottage for guests on arrival.
The 6 properties sleep 2 to 14 guests.
All but one of the cottages are located within walking distance of each other on Lambside Farm. These cottages are well equipped with free WiFi, Digital TVs, dvds, washing machines and dishwashers. All have private gardens with dining table and BBQ. Cots and high chairs available on request. There is a fantastic wildflower meadow with children's play area (complete with tractor!) nearby. Well behaved dogs are welcome in The Lodge, Corner Cottage and Shepherd’s Cottages, and allowed in Lambside House by special arrangement.
The Beach Hut is set away from the other properties, hidden away on its own private beach.
Al holiday cottages are open all year, excluding The Beach Hut which is closed for one month during the winter. Short breaks available all year.
Lambside house (sleeps 11/14):
A Georgian 'gentleman's residence' once owned by Edward Baring of banking renown, this beautiful house has been refurbished in a way that retains every bit of style and grandeur whilst leaving no doubt about its friendly atmosphere - this house loves people. One dog welcome by special arrangement.
Corner Cottage (sleeps 10):
In a lovely location with beautiful views, Corner Cottage offers perfect accommodation for a larger family or group. Just off a quiet farm lane at Lambside Farm and only a few minutes walk from the coastal path it offers space and comfort for up to ten people. Dogs welcome.
Shepherd's Cottage (sleeps 6):
Just along the lane from Corner Cottage and The Lodge, Shepherd's Cottage is a semi-detached property that was formerly a farm worker's residence as its name suggests. It has been tastefully modernised and offers wonderful light and airy accommodation with a comfortable, homely atmosphere and great character. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and an enclosed garden. Dogs welcome.
The Lodge (sleeps 4):
Situated next door to Corner Cottage, this "eco-lodge" has been built to a very high standard and is incredibly eco-friendly - as well as very child-friendly and dog-friendly! With 2 bedrooms it is ideal for couples or families.
The Mews (sleeps 2):
The Mews is situated across the lane from Shepherd's Cottage, but cleverly designed to give total privacy. It is ideal for couples - a real "lover's nest". One bedroom, a fantastic antique roll top 'cow' bath and a wood-fired hot tub on the private terrace!
The Beach Hut (sleeps 2)
The Beach Hut is a very special property, hidden away on its own private beach. The romantic escape features a double bed reached by a stepladder, cosy hammocks facing the sea and a wood-fired hot tub.
