Dairy Yard Cottage Kineton Guiting Power The Cotswolds Family friendly Holiday Cottage for romantic breaks ideal for golf in Guiting Power, Gloucestershire, England
Charming, 2 bedroom barn cottage, rural village location, in one of the most glorious parts of the Cotswolds. Splendid walking country. Great for visiting historic houses, churches, RHS gardens, museums, farm parks, market towns.
Dairy Yard Cottage is set within the grounds of Home Farm, a classic Cotswold stone farmhouse, on the edge of the quiet, unspoilt village of Kineton, in a delightful tract of countryside on the upper reaches of the Windrush Valley.
Kineton, a small settlement with several approaches along winding lanes and through fords, has a country pub (100 yards from cottage) with log fire, locally brewed beer and good food.
The area is locally referred to as 'The Guitings' with Kineton nestled mid-way between the villages of Guiting Power (2 pubs, church, bakery, shop, cafe and post office) and Temple Guiting with its beautiful church and history dating back to the Knights Templar, village shop and tea room.
In an area of outstanding natural beauty, offering mile upon mile of excellent walking country, the village is off the tourist trail but is convenient for all the notable places of interest. There are many local museums, wildlife and farm parks, churches, country houses and magnificent gardens worth visiting. Racing at Cheltenham, Stratford and Warwick, Golf at Naunton Downs and horse riding available locally.
The Regency spa town of Cheltenham, with its popular racecourse, is within 20 minutes drive, Oxford (45 minutes) with its skyline of spires and college courtyards and Stratford-upon-Avon (30 minutes) with the attractions of the river and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway, Moreton-in-the Marsh and Chipping Campden (10-15minutes), Burford (20 minutes), Cirencester (30 minutes) and Warwick (45 minutes) are all within easy range.
Dairy Yard Cottage forms part of a listed stone barn, dating back to the eighteenth century, which has been sympathetically renovated, retaining many of the original features and character of the original farm building, such as flagstone floors, beamed ceilings and exposed timbers. Carefully restored, well appointed and decorated in a classic, country style with neutral colours, sea grass floor coverings etc, it provides a delightful, comfortable base in a peaceful rural setting from which to explore the Cotswolds.
