Callander is a small town in Scotland, situated on the River Teith and within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National park. It is known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’. It is an ideal holiday destination, or a great place to stop off on the way in or out of the Highlands.

For such a small town it is very well catered for in terms of shops, cafes, pubs and bars. Whether you wish to go for a walk along the park-like riverside, or be more adventurous and head off up a mountain or onto a mountain bike trail, Callander has it all. In the holiday season the town is usually full of tourists, underlining the popularity of the area, however there is plenty of space to find peace and quiet.
If it is live music you are after, the town is famous for this in the many bars. Every year Callander hosts The Callander Jazz and Blues festival.
Nearby at Loch Venachar and Loch Lubnaig, you will find a range of walks, magnificent scenery and water sports on offer. About 2 miles away is Callander's own highland 'Ben', Ben Ledi, ideal for an energetic walk to a wonderful view.
