Wicklow Mountains are located in County Wicklow on the East coast of Ireland. The range runs in a north-south direction, and passes by Dublin. Lugnaquilla is the highest peak in the range at 925 m (3035 ft), Mullaghcleevaun at 847 m (2,780 ft) is the second highest. The slopes of the mountains are covered with heath and bog. The Wicklow Mountains contain some of Ireland’s most charming landscape and wildlife, from rare orchids to the wild and beautiful Pergrine Falcon which makes it ideal for wildlife and bird lovers. There is an information Point and Education Centre for the park that is located nearby in Glendalough Valley. With its mountainous landscape, lakes and rivers make it highly popular for recreational purposes such as fishing, hill walking and rafting. The town of Wicklow is situated to the east and Dublin is situated to the north of the Wicklow Mountains.
