A Lancashire Halloween entertainment attraction comprising five scary evening fright attractions and a daytime attraction suitable for small children
With six all new attractions, Scare Kingdom Scream Park, located at Hawkshaw Farm Park, home to Mrs Dowson’s Ice Cream, in Longsight Road, Clayton-le-Dale, on the A59 between Blackburn and Preston, Lancashire, re-opens for a third spooktacular year on Friday, October 21, 2011 until Saturday, November 5, inclusive.
Since it opened in 2009 the attraction has been a sell-out success and last year attracted nearly 10,000 thrill-seekers from across the UK and overseas.
Now the scream team behind the park plan to push the boundaries for 2011 with a feast of new frights combining claustrophobia, physical contact and state-of-the-art special effects to create an extreme scream experience at night and a family friendly treat during the day.
TV presenter and creative director of Scare Kingdom Scream Park, Jason Karl, said: 'This year looks set to be our scariest yet, with a whole host of horrifying attractions to entertain every type of guest, from those seeking a heart pounding fear fest, to those seeking light hearted spooky fun, Scare Kingdom caters for all, and is currently the UK's only scream park offering all new attractions each and every year.'
This year’s evening fright fest houses two creepy corn maze attractions including the blood-soaked harvest of Voodoo Bayou and the festival of phantoms in Day of the Dead while the new and terrifying indoor scares include hms hell, a shipwreck of souls, and Blood Bath ii, twisted terror in the meat locker.
All four headlining evening scare attractions combine live actors, special effects, sounds and smells to create a unique, four-dimensional assault on the senses.
Visitors to the park can also stir up a storm on the whirling waltzer ride, The Cauldron, enjoy devilish dares on The Dastardly Dodgems as well as heart-thumping spooky fun on The Ghost Train, free entertainment with a range of sinister street theatre characters and an invitation to meet the Angel of Death lurking inside LuciFEAR’s Mirror.
New for 2011, the licensed, Bloody Mary’s Bar, will be open during each evening where a range of alcoholic and soft drinks will be available as well as a host of hot and cold food and snacks.
At the new Scare Kingdom merchandise stand evening guests can also purchase a range of ghastly goods including a scary souvenir programme, key rings, t-shirts, Bags for Death and monstrous Scare Bears.
Daytime attractions, suitable for families and children aged ten and under, include Hocus Pocus where magic comes to life with friendly witch, Pink Hazel, and Firefang the friendly dragon, as they invite guests to help them wake up a magic mirror through music and storytelling as well as digital and hand-held puppets.
Afterwards, daytime guests can have their picture taken with Pink Hazel and friendly ghost, Sir Scare-a-Lot before taking advantage of free entry to Hawkshaw Farm Park to see a range of small animals and enjoy Mrs Dowson’s famous ice cream at The Wicked Witch Cafe where light snacks and hot and cold beverages will also be available as well as the Scary Face Painters team.
