Kippen
Kippen is a small village that sits between the Gargunnock and Fintry Hills and has stunning views out over the valley of the River Forth. Indeed the village has some of the most enviable views in Scotland - with the southern Highlands to the North and the Gargunnock and Fintry hills to the South. Kippen has witnessed many historical events over the years and is a great place to be based for a holiday in Central Scotland. Glasgow and Edinburgh are both only a 1 hour drive away and the Trossachs and Loch Lomond can be reached in twenty minutes.
Kippen is a great place to escape to and is full of things to do in the village itself. There are three great places to eat - The Cross Keys, The Inn at Kippen and Berits and Brown all offer varied and excellent food and drink. Berits and Brown is an excellent deli as well so you can pick up some provisions there or at the renowned butchers across the road, T and R Skinner.
The walks in Kippen are renowned and there are excellent cycle tracks all around the village. Kippen also boasts a world class clay pigeon shooting range.
There are many great things to do in the Kippen area. In addition to Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, other historical sites in the area include Doune Castle, and Inchmahome Priory. Children will also enjoy the Blair Drummond Safari Park, a visit to the David Marshall Lodge.or cycling or sailing on a steamship at Loch Katrine
